Class 101 DMU at Kelty South Junction

25th May 1968

ScR set 74 at Kelty South Junction with a Perth - Edinburgh working, 25/5/68. The DMBS has the revised lining, the DTC carries a yellow first class stripe, which only ScR vehicles seemed to do in green livery. Hamish Stevenson.

circa 1974

A six-car formation in Norwich circa 1974; at least two of the three two-car sets are hybrids. Closest is set 74, a Class 101 / 105, behind is a Class 100 / 105. Lowestoft is on the destination blind. John Law.

Class 100 DMU at Norwich

10th September 1975

On 10 September 1975, E56316, new from the Gloucester railway Carriage and Wagon Company in February 1958, is seen departing Norwich for Lowestoft, coupled to a Metro-Cammell class 101 motor coach probably 51207. The "MON 15" notice refers to the unit's next exam date. Jeremy Chapter.

GRC&W/Cravens hybrid set 74 departs from Yarmouth Vauxhall with the 1.50pm to Norwich (via Acle) service on March 10, 1979. Michael Mensing.

Class 100 DMBS E51124 with Class 105 DTCL E56451 at Cambridge on 1 April 1979. They formed Norwich allocated set 74. Stuart Mackay Collection.

Class 100 DMU at Ipswich

27th April 1980

A tidy looking Gloucester Class 100 Driving Motor Brake Second E51124 was stood in the bay platform at Ipswich, having arrived at the rear of a service from Lowestoft on April 27th 1980. Its partner is a Class 105 DTC, and there is blue/grey set behind. Martyn Hilbert.

Class 105 DMU at Felixstowe Town

28th April 1980

Stood at the former Great Eastern Railway terminus at Felixstowe Town, A Cravens Class 105 two-car DMU formed of Driving Trailer Composite Lavatory (DTCL) E56467 & Driving Motor Brake Second (DMBS) E51265, had arrived with a service from Ipswich on April 28th 1980. Rationalisation had taken place at Felixstowe Town with the track layout reduced to just a single line. The station still had some 1950's British Railways Dark Blue, Eastern Region enamel signs in-situ. Martyn Hilbert.

Class 101 DMU at Whitlingham Junction

summer 1986

This is Whitlingham Junction to the east of Norwich, in the summer of 1986. A two-car Class 101 DMU (set 74, presumably 54058 + 53206) heads for the city from one of the coastal towns. Andrew Walker.
