Sc56316 is one of the vehicles seen at Leith Central depot, date unknown. As well as the GRC&W set there is also a Met-Camm and two Swindon Cross-Country sets visible. Stuart Mackay Collection.

Class 100 DMU at Longstanton

20th April 1970

The 11.53 Cambridge to St Ives at Longstanton station on 20 April 1970, the cars recorded as E50344 and E56316, both ex-Scottish Region and now allocated to Cambridge, although they would move to Norwich within a few weeks. Longstanton station was mentioned in the song, "The Slow Train", Flanders & Swan's eulogy to the railways facing closure under the Beeching plan. Tom Burnham.

Norwich DMU set number 75 is formed of a Class 100 DTCL (thought to be 56316) and a Class 101 DMBS (presumably 51213) on 16 April 1974 when seen at Woodbridge with the 14.55 Lowestoft - Ipswich service. Stuart Mackay Collection.

10th September 1975

Set number: 74

On 10 September 1975, E56316, new from the Gloucester railway Carriage and Wagon Company in February 1958, is seen departing Norwich for Lowestoft, coupled to a Metro-Cammell class 101 motor coach probably 51207. The "MON 15" notice refers to the unit's next exam date. Jeremy Chapter.

Withdrawn Gloucester RC&W Class 143 Driving Trailer No E56316 at March TMD on January 18th 1981. It had been withdrawn from Norwich in April 1978 and disposal would be to Snailwell in April 1981. Rob Edwards.
