51208 at the head of an nine-car formation at Ilford Car Sheds circa 1983. Peter Boor would be the driver on this on a school special from Seven Kings to Norwich. Peter Boor.

Class 101 DMU at Whitlingham Junction

summer 1986

A two-car DMU (Class 101 set 83, presumably with 51197 leading) passes Whitlingham Junction, east of Norwich, in the summer of 1986. The GE-designed signalbox here was built in 1909. Andrew Walker.

Class 101 DMU at Hartlepool

1987

A Met Camm DMU at Hartlepool in September 1987. The DMBS carries set number 83 and so is presumably 51197. John Law.

51197 is on the rear of a Met-Camm set passing a more modern unit at Glaisdale, by the ex NER signal box, in 1988. John Law.

Class 101 51197 is seen arriving at Leeds on 28.03.1989. It still carries set number 83 from its time at Norwich from which it had departed in April 1987. Andy Cole.
