With eight vehicles in view this is likely a nine-car Cross-Country formation. The first two sets are of the GRC&W variety, the rear set - with less roof vents - was Swindon built. DMSL W51092 leads the train into (or through) Braford Peverell and Stratton Halt on 18 August 1963, a station on the former Wiltshire, Somerset & Weymouth Railway which closed in October 1965. Hawksworth vehicle W7804W has been inserted into a GRCW Cross-Country set (formed W51064 + W59423 + W51092) (with a Swindon Cross-Country at the rear). The train is the 3.45pm Oxford - Paddington seen at Didcot on the 22nd September 1961. Michael Mensing.

Sun 20 Apr 1975 at 16:04. A GRCW 3-car Cross Country dmu set near Warminster forming [1V28] the 15:40 Salisbury-Cardiff Central. The handle of the tail lamp obscures the last digit of the st number but it could be B578 (W51064, W59423 and W51092). Mr Deltic.

The annual Spalding Flower Parade would bring many specials to the town and on 7 May 1983 we see two Class 119 sets, including L576 (51062 + 59421 + 51090) either coming out or in of the sidings at Spalding. The sign in the window notes it was Chiltern Trains 1Z49. The July 1983 Railway Observer (p270) notes this as running from West Ruislip with the second set being L578 (51092 + 59423 + 51064).
