Class 101 Metro Cammell 2-car DMU 53210 + 54072 at Norwich with the 12-20 to Lowestoft, 16-7-84. On Tour With the Class 13 Army.
Class 101 53210, set number 86, is seen departing Nuneaton for New Street on 03.04.1985. It was based at Norwich at the time. Andy Cole.
Class 101 DMBSs 53210 + 53209 at Eastfield TMD circa 1986. The pair are coupled together, and 53210 still carries its former Norwich set number. Spannerman37025.
Class101 DMBS 53210 is seen having just arrived on the Ayrshire side of Glasgow Central Station on the 29th July 1986. Formally allocated to Norwich MPD she still carries her 86 depot number at the top of her centre cab window. Class 101 TSL 59090 forms the centre car in Strathclyde red and black livery with Class 104 53598 bringing up the rear. Together they formed Scottish Region Set No. 104455. All had been scrapped by August 1989 Bob Woolnough.
E51274, E50209, E51441 and E50210 form a nice DMU line-up at Newcastle on January 31, 1981. John Carter.
Left: E50293 + E59070 + E50139, right: E50210 + E56410; at Thornaby on July 16, 1981. Thornaby was refuelling and stabling DMUs at this time and the nearest set is doing the shunt moves necessary to get on the depot. Thornaby station buildings were demolished soon after, becoming a windswept platform with only a bus shelter for passenger accommodation. Although now much improved with a ticket office and waiting room it is a shame the original buildings hadn't been renovated. John Carter.
Class 101 Metro Cammell 2-car DMU with 54072 foremost (and 53210 behind) after arrival at Lowestoft with the 12-20 ex-Norwich on 16-7-84. On Tour With the Class 13 Army.
Hybrid DMU set 455 (53598 + 59090 + 53210) departs from Shotts station with the 09:32 Glasgow Central - Edinburgh service on an unknown date in 1986. Stuart Mackay Collection.
Indian summer of the DMU in Ayrshire. Set 455 (presumably 53598 + 59090 + 53210) works with a Class 120 set at Ayr station in September 1986. Andrew McConnell.
Kilwinning on the afternoon of 15/9/86 with a mixed cl.101/104 set (53210/59090/53598) leaving on the 16.09 to Glasgow (15.45 ex-Ayr). Note the mix of liveries on this Ayr set, which, typically for this time, is a real mish-mash of whatever the depot could cobble together. So, the leading DMBS in blue and grey is recently arrived from Hull, the class 101 trailer is in Strathclyde colours and the class 104 DMBS at the rear, a Newton Heath cast-off, is in plain blue.
