Not so long after seeing my first Western Region allocated "Metro-Cammell" DMU at Newton Abbot, they started turning up at Hereford - as Cardiff received a few sets. Here is set P802 (presumably 51521 + 59550 + 51449 transferred from LA to BR in June 1975) waiting to leave on a Worcester bound service. It was unusual to see these sets in blue and white livery at this time, though later this became common. John Crooks.
The Lea Valley Railway Club 'The Royal Duchy' railtour at Wadebridge on 30 April 1977. The tour originated in Paddington and was loco-hauled to Par where two Class 101 sets took over, B802 (visible here, 51521 and presumably 59550 + 51449) and B800. They visited numerous places ending at Plymouth where the passengers returned to the loco-hauled set for the journey back to London. Roger Geach.
The Lea Valley Railway Club 'The Royal Duchy' railtour passing Respryn Bridge which is near Bodmin Road on the Lostwithiel side on 30 April 1977. It was formed of Class 101 DMU sets B802 (51521 and presumably 59550 + 51449) and B800 (presumably 51445 + 59549 + 51515) Roger Geach.
The Lea Valley Railway club ran a tour to Wadebridge on 30 April 1977 which for part of the journey used two Met-Camm units (B800 + B802) that were unusual in Cornwall at the time. It is seen at Polbrock Bridge near Grogley Halt on its way to Wadebridge with W51521 and presumably W59550 in view. Roger Geach.
Class 101 DMU set B802 (51521 and presumably 59550 + 51449) departs from Swindon. Date unknown, it seems freshly painted (into blue/grey) post refurbished livery but before a headlamp was added so circa 1980/1. Paul Redmond.
Class 101 DMU set B802 (51449 and presumably 59550 + 51521) passing Swindon Works. Date unknown. circa 1980/1. Paul Redmond.

B802 (presumably 51521 + 59550 + 51449) passes a 120 at Llandrindod Wells Crossing. Note the 101 has the destination blind glass painted over. Tom Clift.
Set B307 is a Class 116 / 101 hybrid containing W53083 + W59550 + W53820. It's seen approaching Ashton Jct leading a Class 104 on a Bristol TM - Ashton Gate service in 1984. Robert Tarling.
