Details

Passing at Pollokshaws.

By 1999 time was running out for first generation DMUs in Scotland, with a handful of Met Camm power twin sets operating from Corkerhill depot on some Glasgow suburban services. Taken on 1st August that year, when these had only a few months to go before being replaced by Sprinters.

101692 (53170 + 53253) was repainted into a unique blue livery in 1996 and is seen at Pollokshaws West on a Glasgow Central to Barrhead service on 1st August 1999. Following withdrawal from Longsight, this set was preserved.

Passing in the distance is 101688 (51431 + 51501) which was destroyed in a blaze near Mossend on 17th November of that year.
