The 13.20 from Cambridge to Peterborough North departs from March on 24 January 1971. Closest car is E51115, it appears to be a GRC&W / Met-Camm and Cravens / Met-Camm formation. The signalbox is March North Junction. Tom Burnham.

An April 1971 wedding in Edinburgh gave me a chance to check out Waverley station. The sun shone both on the ceremony & on this Class 100 diesel multiple unit passing the signal box at the east side of the station. From the banner signal above the coach it may be heading for platform 21. Pete LG99.
Dmu car E56100 is reversing at Cromer (formerly the M&GNR station of Cromer Beach, as is still shown on the nameboard) on its journey with the 13.52 from Norwich to Sheringham on 17 June 1971. Behind the train is the tower of the parish church of St Peter and St Paul. Tom Burnham.

The scene in the north end of Stirling station in 1972 included a three-cae GRC&W / Met-Camm set in the bay and a Met-Camm in the through roads to the left. Non-DMU interest includes the covered car transports on the left and the roofs of sleepers to the right. Comments to the image on flickr noted that these combined to form a Monday and Thursday car-sleeper service that ran overnight to Bristol and Newton Abbot. Tom Burnham.
Sc50342 - the last green liveried Class 100 DMU - seen departing Edinburgh Waverley in a cloud of exhaust, circa 1972. This the only green liveried DMU that I remember seeing in normal service - and also the only one I ever captured on film. We had just arrived in Edinburgh from London, and I was exploring the station, and just managed to get to the end of the northbound platforms in time to see it disappearing into the tunnel. Taken with my basic Kodak Brownie using 120 roll film. Chris McKee.
