A Class 100 GRC&W DMU seen at Strines on a Manchester to New Mills service on the 23rd of March 1973. The KDH Archive.
Two sets, both formed of a Gloucester (100) DMBS and a Cravens (105) DTCL, pass in the station throat at Norwich. Set 71 (100 facing) is on the right, berthed presumably for fueling, with set 65 (105 facing) on the left approaching the station. Whilst a Class 31 can also be seen in the background on the left, the main reason for the photograph is in the central background: 4771 "Green Arrow" setting off for a test run to Ely, following restoration to mainline running standards by Bill Harvey and members of Norfolk Railway Society. The loco never ran a railtour from Norwich in these times, being moved away immediately after restoration. Norfolk Wherry Trust.
In the sidings at Doncaster on 7 April 1973 can be seen a Class 100 DTC with the cab removed, probably 56098 which was withdrawn the previous month and had been noted in Doncaster with severe cab damage. Beside it is another Gloucester-built vehicle, LMR Class 128 DMPV M55987, withdrawn in July 1971. Mr Deltic.

With Lowestoft showing on the destination blind, GRC&W set 64 heads away from the camera past a Neptune System track machine in the siding to the north east of Saxhumdham station. With bars over the passenger door droplights, this was a vehicle that had previously spent time at South Gosforth and is likely E56307, which dates to circa 1972/3.
