101 DMU

Unknown Date

This was passed to me, having been noticed on a Pinterest board. This is Lochee station on the Dundee and Newtyle line: it is believed that this was a tour by the Angus Railway Society and would be prior to total closure of the line in 1967, closure to passengers having taken place in the 1950s. Remarkably, the station building still exists as the Lochee Burns Club! Not known.

Screenshot taken at 38:45 to 38:56 of https://www.yfanefa.com/record/26285. 6-car train at Corbridge on the Newcastle-Carlisle line headed towards Newcastle. Might be an excursion special? One question I have is does the existence of 4 marker lamps allow a more accurate dating than the film's window of 1957 to 1961 or does it span the whole period? Screenshot from film by D.M. Paulin held by North East Film Archive.
