Seen at Eldroth, between Clapham and Giggleswick on the "Little North Western", is hybrid DMU with two Class 101 DMCs (51526 closest) with Class 108 TBS 59246 as a centre car on its way from Morecambe to Leeds on 28 March 1989. A hybrid class 101/104 set standing at Stirling on 22/7/87. It is labelled as "101 366", though technically it should have been 104 366, since the class of the brake vehicle determined the class prefix in ScR set numbers. It will depart at 18.05 to Edinburgh. The nearest vehicle is 51528 and the TBS is 59215; though the furthest-away vehicle was not identified definitely, it is likely to be 51534. Leonard Rogers.
A 3-car DMU smokes through Princes St Gardens in August 1987 on an Edinburgh to Glasgow via Falkirk Grahamston stopping service. Class 101 power cars SC51528 and 51534 are sandwiching class 104 TBS 59215, originally part of a 4 car set and which was reallocated north from Neville Hill in 1982 and withdrawn at the end of 1987. A six-car DMU formation heads north with a Glasgow service away from Ayr station on 5 June 1982. A Class 101 is at the front, 51529 leading, the rear set appears to be a Class 107. Mike McDonald.

A two-car Met-Camm DMU, set 101343 (presumably 51529 + 51795) seen at Ribblehead in March 1989. The vehicles had been transferred from Eastfield to Neville Hill in December 1985 but still carried their Scottish set number. They would move to Cardiff a few weeks after this photo with the start of the summer timetable, no doubt cascaded by more modern units. George Woods.

Transaction in progress. At Bradford Junction we see signalman Chris accepting the single line token from the driver of this Class 101 diesel multiple unit, which has arrived from the direction of Melksham with an unrecorded service sometime in 1988. Tom Harper.
A Plymouth Laira allocated Class 101 formed of cars 51530 & 51181 was departing from Starcross with the 16.45 Exmouth to Paignton service on May 31st 1989. The unit was one of several first generation sets drafted into the West Country following the transfer of the Class 142 'Skipper' fleet to the North the previous year. Martyn Hilbert.
