Class 101 51523, set number S804, is seen at Tyseley on 04.06.1988. It had been transferred from Landore Swansea to Tyseley via Chester. Note it still retains a First Class section. Andy Cole.
Having collected the single line token from the signal box at nearby Midge Hall, a Class 101 two-car DMU formed of cars M51523 & M53219 (N657) was gaining momentum as it was passing Pages Crossing at Ulnes Walton whilst en-route to its next station call at Croston with a Preston to Ormskirk service on April 29th 1989. A Class 101 formed of DMCL SC51524, TCL SC59562 and DMBS SC51467 call at a very peaceful Leuchars Station with an early afternoon service from Dundee to Edinburgh Waverley on the 15th May 1978. All had been refurbished in the white & blue colours and were allocated to Glasgow Eastfield MPD at this time running as Set 187. The central bay platform for the St Andrews branch which closed in January 1969 is clearly still visible. The white houses to the right of the image are part of the married quarters for RAF Leuchars which at this time was a very busy RAF Fighter Station. Bob Woolnough.
A Sheffield-Leeds DMU approaches Barnsley station on 15th August 1988. The era of the DMUs was fast drawing to a close at this time, the Class 101 was formed of E51524 + E51454. Andrew Walker.

Branch Line Society "Forth and Clyde Wanderer" rail tour 27 August 1977. Class 101 dmu cars 51525 + 59556 + 51464 formed the train seen here at Bathgate Upper, closed to passengers in 1956. The line itself closed in 1982 and was lifted, but has since been restored. Bathgate is served by a resited station. Jeremy Chapter.
