My guess is that it was leaking and an attempt was made to seal it with a water based sealant, which was then out in the rain at speed before it had properly set. Under a threatening sky, a Cravens Class 105 Power-Twin 2-car DMU with DMCL M50801 leading, was stood at Bamber Bridge with a Colne to Preston service on July 25th 1977. Class 105 DTCL E56414 stands on the Cambridge MPD refuelling point on the 18th September 1977 attached to an unknown Class 105 DMBS. Judging by the Kings Cross destination blind I imagine she was still allocated to Finsbury Park MPD at this time although she had moved north to Norwich by 1980. Withdrawn in November 1982 she was scrapped at Snailwell during October 1983. Bob Woolnough.
