Of the three DMU worked services using Stratford allocated class 105 Cravens DMU's in the 1980's the real Cinderella operation was the Stratford to Tottenham Hale service. This short suburban service operated from the mainline station at Stratford but started from the little used platform 11 on the Temple Mills goods lines. On departure the train would not run directly north towards Temple Mills but instead was routed via High Meads Junction thus performing a 180 degree circumnavigation of Stratford Depot and Works. When this shot was taken on 03/06/85 the service was Monday to Friday only with four return trains in the morning peak and four in the late afternoon early evening peak. The first of the evening trains - service 2H09 the 16.00 to Tottenham Hale is seen waiting to depart from Stratford (mainline station). Adrian Nicholls.
