At Norwich on 15/3/86 is Sheringham bound Set 30 on the left (E54125 closest) alongside Set 34, a relatively recent arrival at Norwich depot, but destined to be one of the final seven sets based there. On a couple of Saturdays in 1986, my friend Phil Mott accompanied me on an Anglian Day Ranger ticket. He equipped me with a 'proper' camera and between us we took some black and white pictures on our travels. This in Norwich on 1st April 1986. I suspect it is one of Phil's pictures as I tended to avoid getting people in mine, which in retrospect is a bit of a shame. Mind you, we'd probably be carted off by the BTP if we took a picture like this today. Our aim was to photograph the Cravens 105s and Classic series ETH Class 31/4s, so this was a bit of good fortune, getting a trio of Cravens. Gerard Fletcher.

A Class 114 DMBS and a Class 105 DTSL on Lincoln depot. The slide process date was April 1987. The Cravens shows signs that it was a former Stratford vehicle (the headlamp brackets) and was also once allocated to Norwich (the set number location on the cab window), which identifies it as 54421, withdrawn from Lincoln in February 1987. A pair of Cravens Local Passenger (later Class 105) 2-car dmu's E56424 (141) with E51255 (105/2) and E56457 (141) with E51264 (105/2) departing Kings Cross to Hatfield on a service for which the class was not designed - intensive suburban passenger, July 1966. Hugh Llewelyn.
A Cravens DMU sits in Ansdell & Fairhaven railway station on Saturday 19 February 1977. The closest vehicles appears to be E56424, which spent three months on loan to Newton Heath from Finsbury Park in early 1977. Ian 10B.

A Cravens DMU at Gateshead on 6 June 1981 with "Middlesbrough" on the destination blind. The number on the closest vehicle appears to be E56425 which was withdrawn the same month, so why was it freshly repainted? George Woods.

A pair of Cravens units await departure from the north end bays at Cambridge on Monday 5th September 1983. Driving Trailer Composite E56426 leads the unit on the left which forms the 10:48 service to Ipswich via Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds. Set 65 on the right will follow on three minutes later with the 10:51 Cambridge to Doncaster via March, Peterborough, Spalding, Sleaford, Lincoln and Gainsborough, finally arriving in Doncaster at 14:23. A bit of an endurance test but I can’t help thinking it must have been quite relaxing in the 1st Class section behind the driver’s cab, especially if the blinds were up. Brian McDevitt.
