With Disley showing on the blind, Buxton based Derby class 108 dmu BX496 with it's BRC&W center car (M51947 + M59155 + M52062) slows for the Chapel-en-le-Frith stop on 23rd February 1986. After working a peak hour Manchester Piccadilly-Chinley via Marple service, 'Spa Line' branded former Buxton class 108 power cars, now Chester allocated set CH378 (presumably with 51948 closest) return direct ecs to Longsight depot, decend the Hazel Grove Cord which opened to traffic a few years earlier on the 12th May 1986, to provide a link between the old Midland Rly and the L&NW Rly. 16th June 1989. Two Buxton allocated Derby built class 108 dmu's (BX497 on the left, probably 51950) on the blocks at Buxton station along with ADB965222 one of the two independent snow ploughs that Buxton had, always ready for use even in July!
