A Leeds Neville Hill Depot allocated Class 108 with Driving Trailer Second Lavatory (TRSL) E54195 leading, was stood at Parbold with a Southport to Manchester Victoria service on October 4th 1986. The rear car has West Yorkshire PTE 'MetroTrain' branding, and judging by the destination blind the unit had been 'borrowed' at Manchester for the trip to the seaside and back. Martyn Hilbert.
With its first class saloon downgraded to second, Class 108 Driving Trailer Second Lavatory (DTSL) and Motor Brake Second 53606, were stood in the carriage sidings at Southport on August 29th 1988. 54196 had an unusually small BR emblem that looked as though it was part of a West Yorkshire PTE logo without the 'Metro Train' branding. A two-car Class 108 at Kirkby Stephen in March 1989. The DTSL closest carries set number N615 and so is likely to be 54196 transferred from Newton Heath to Neville Hill that month, presumably with DMBS 53606. George Woods.

In refurbished white with blue stripe livery, Class 108 Driving Trailer Composite Lavatory (DTCL) E56198 complete with WYPTE branding, was the lead vehicle of a four-car working to Leeds, stood at Knottingley station on May 5th 1980. The nearby Knottingley depot was having an open day and the service trains to and from Leeds were strengthened to cope with the crowds. Martyn Hilbert.

In refurbished livery a Class 108 two-car DMU formed of DTCL E56199 & DMBS E50605, was arriving at Ilkley with a service from Leeds on August 9th 1980. The route from Leeds to Ilkley is now known as the 'Wharfedale Line' and was electrified in 1995. The two tracks on the far left background of this scene were once through lines that ran beyond Ilkley on the route to Skipton via Addingham and Bolton Abbey that was closed in 1965. Martyn Hilbert.
