The 49-strong fleet of Class 114 2-car DMUs spent most of their working lives based at Lincoln depot. Although a local type with standard bus seating, they had a wide sphere of operation in Eastern England, covering Lincolnshire, Humberside, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire, but regularly worked deeper into West / North Yorkshire, reaching Darlington in the north and Peterborough in the south. They often worked into Leeds on services to / from Sheffield, and here, 53046 & 54042 are sen at City station with a Sheffield service on 14/06/1987. Graeme Phillips Collection.

Keith has noted Class 105 Departmental DMU TDB977453, DMUs 53026, 54026, 54039 and 53005 in this view of Lincoln depot on 12 July 1987. In the platform on the left are the two departmental 100s: 975539 + 975349 and 975637 + 975664; it looks like the Cravens is next in that line, presumably its partner is 977454. Keith Miller.

The 1045 Sheffield - Cleethorpes service runs into Scunthorpe Station formed of Class 114 pairing E53019+E54010. In approximately three weeks time the leading vehicle, E53019 will be transferred to Tyseley, ending a 26 years association with Lincoln Depot ..... 14th September 1987. Nigel Mack.
