Cold day at Edgbaston. On the canal side at Edgbaston tunnel one of Tyseley's Derby built class 116 DMUs ploughs it's way towards Longbridge with a service from Four Oaks on 09/02/1985. The Birmingham - Worcester canal at this point has a tunnel parallel with the railway tunnel, this is the view from the west portal towards Longbridge. Geoff Dowling.

In the heart of the Worcestershire countryside and overlooking the River Avon at Eckington is this location near the village of Defford. this picture shows an unidentified Tyseley class 116 heading north with a Gloucester to Birmingham train. The date was 19 July 1985 and was my first visit of many to this pleasant spot. Peter Tandy.
Taken from one of the Coalville Open day DMU shuttles, travelling along the freight only line from Leicester to Burton-on-Trent, we cross Grange Road level crossing which is controlled by Bardon Hill signal box, which dates from 1899 and is a Midland Type 2b and was fitted with a 16 lever frame which was replaced by function switches on a panel. 1st September 1985.
