Two of Tyseley's four-car suburban DMU sets in Skegness station circa mid-1988. Closest is set T403 (presumably 53106 (Class 116 DMS) + 59616 (Class 127 TSL) + 59641 (Class 127 TS) + 51852 (Class 115 DMBS) with set T411 on the rear. Brian Ward.

Network South East’s “Network Day” on 16th April 1988 turned out to be dull and damp but armed with a ticket giving me the freedom of the network, I headed for Kent. A surprise sight at Ramsgate was this 4 car Tyseley DMU. No idea where it came from, it doesn’t feature on Six Bells Junction. Must have been a relief for passengers to alight here on what must have been a long journey (wonder what route it took) from the Midlands. Set T403 was a bit of a hybrid, the front car here is class 116 53106, the centre cars were class 127 vehicles displaced from Cricklewood by the Bed-Pan electrification, and the rear car was class 115 51852. "Eddie Knorn and I travelled to Birmingham for the last advertised day of first generation DMU services on the Cross City Line, where great things were expected. Unfortunately on the day, many of the services were in the hands of 'Centro' liveried 150s. Here Class 116 DMBS 51138, set T405, and Class 117 DMS 51412, set T307, are seen at Birmingham New Street on the final day, Sunday 29 November 1992 - only it wasn't the final day as it turned out, with another 'Finale' taking place in 1993." The 13.48 Lichfield Trent Valley-Redditch departs from Birmingham New Street on 14 December 1991 formed of Tyseley suburban set T406 with 53102 at the front. On the right 47 814 is on the 11:41 York-Swansea. Robert Thomas.

On 26 September 1991 a 4 car Tyseley with an unclear set number, possibly T407, a hybrid formed of classes 116, 116 and 127, was turning off the Birmingham to Gloucester line at on its way to Redditch. Behind it on the main line is another hybrid set going towards Birmingham along with 55032 in the turnback siding waiting for a path to cross over and form the next service from Barnt Green back to Worcester Shrub Hill. Class 116 51153, set number T407 is seen at Tyseley on 18.10.1992. It had been transferred from Cardiff and is seen as part of a scratch set with an NSE liveried Class 119 centre car (presumably 59416). When transferred up from Cardiff they came as 2 cars and Tyseley added any available centre car. Andy Cole.
