The 17:30 rugex to Abergavenny in Cardiff Central on 7 April 1991, formed of a Class 108 flanked by Class 116s, all two-cars. Closest is set C395, 51153 and presumably 51140. At the far end is C390 (DMBS 51134 and presumably 51145, which seems to have a door ajar). Robert Thomas.

Class 116 51153, set number T407 is seen at Tyseley on 18.10.1992. It had been transferred from Cardiff and is seen as part of a scratch set with an NSE liveried Class 119 centre car (presumably 59416). When transferred up from Cardiff they came as 2 cars and Tyseley added any available centre car. Andy Cole.

Note the far side has a footstep and handrail for staff to reach the reset 'butterfly', on the closest side they are not fitted but there are bolts where they should be. The writing on the lower corner reads in different rows 'C' (for composite, the vehicle type) 'TRIPLE' (the formation), 'S.P. 3-59' ('Shopping Proposal' - its next works date), 'NEW - 2001' (2001 is the code for Derby Works), '11-3-57' and then a paint date which is not readable. Taken in the smoking compartments looking through to the non-smoking, behind the solid partition was not the end of the vehicle but a second class compartment. The seat material was the same pattern used on other builds such as the West Riding and West Cumberland Derby Lightweights, although in third class not first. British Railways.

M59005 is the centre car in this refurbished Class 116 set arriving at Wood End on September 4th, 1976, with the 2.10pm Birmingham (Moor St) - Stratford-upon-Avon. The power car appears to be M50094 which would make it set TS505, refurbished in June 1976. Michael Mensing.
Class 116 trailer composite M59009 seen at Southall. It is working with DMBS M50072 labelled as L370. Date unknown, but the normally Tyseley based vehicles were at Reading 10/74 to 5/75.
