BR (Derby) Class 127 4-car Suburban dmu Nos.M51637 (Class 127), M59597 (186), M59621 (186), M51605 (Class 127) in Rail Blue with all-yellow front ends leaving St Pancras on a St. Albans service, 09/75. Hugh Llewelyn.
A class 127 dmu, the headcode suggests M51637 is closest, rests at St Pancras between trips circa 1982. This was during the class' Indian Summer due to the industrial stand off on Driver Only Operation of the class 317 units. Tony Walmsley.
Three newly converted Class 127 parcel sets at Newton Heath depot, circa July 1985. This was the initial conversion before roller shutter doors were fitted. The closest vehicle is believed to be the former 51637, at this time numbered 55988 (which had been a Class 128 number) but would soon be renumbered as 55968. Michael Boot.

Former Bedford-St Pancras Class 127 DMU cars, converted for parcels use with roller shutter doors and numbered M55984 & M55974 (914), were stabled at Croft Street Sidings adjacent to Fylde Junction and the Preston PSB on March 30th 1986. There had been 11 x 2-car parcel units formed in 1985 (sets 910-920) utilising redundant and modified Class 127 DMBS vehicles. Martyn Hilbert.

Class 127 55984, set number 914, is seen inside the factory at Tyseley while undergoing repairs on 01.04.1989. This car was rebuilt from 51639, from a passenger car into a parcels carrying car, complete with roller doors. These sets normally kept to formation, but 55984's partner 55974 was scrapped early on, and on this day it was partnered with 55971. Andy Cole.
Class 127 parcel vehicles M55984 + M55980, M55983 + M55973 and M55981 sit behind 03170 (the last ever Swindon works overhaul) and a brake van on Longsight TMD, 6-5-89. It was just over a week before the whole fleet of Class 127 DPUs were withdrawn, but these five were already out of use and used as a source of spare parts. Kevin Dowd.
