The wires are up at Harlington (Bedfordshire) in August 1980, but electric trains would not arrive until 1982. In the meantime the Class 127 "Bedpan" DMUs maintain the services between St. Pancras and Bedford with Driving Motor Brake Second M51647 leading the train paused at the platform. Bob Belcher.

Pair of class 127 4-car units await custom at St.Pancras early morning Sunday 5th June 1983. DMBS M51650 leads the unit on the right. Note the blue/grey liveried TSL in the unit on the left, several trailers were soon to be transferred for use elsewhere (hence the relivery) when the class ceased operations on the 'BedPan' line.
