July 29th 1966 sees two Class 120 sets comprised of 51794, 59643, 51782, 51784, 59682 and 51791 towing a parcels van into Forres en route to Aberdeen. First of two shots of class 117 unit L413 taken near Hungerford in the summer of 1988. DMS 51391 is leading the train heading for Bedwyn. 51391 was a London division based car for nearly all it's life until Feb 1994 when it moved to Bletchley and then Tyseley for the last seven months of its life. The other two vehicles should be 59501 + 51349. Tony Walmsley.

In 1992, Class 117 DMBS 51367 forming part of twin unit L205 leaves Reading for Oxford. For most of its life, 51367 was part of a three car unit, but by 1992 was formed with class 101 DTCL 54385. 51367 was London based for nearly all its life apart from four years in the 1980s in the Bristol area Tony Walmsley.

116 DMU

In 1990 Tyseley based class 116 dmu T320 is seen at Crewe forming a train for Llandudno. At that time this unit was formed of 53890, 59720 and 51138 - 53890 is nearest the camera. The centre trailer 59720 is a class 115 vehicle fomerly part of an Allerton based four car unit and was built as a TCL, but subsequent declassified. 53890 was Cardiff based until 1966 when it moved to Birmingham. 51138 came to Tyseley from the Western Region in 1976 - probably for the enhancement of the Cross City service Tony Walmsley.

In the spring of 1980 a class 116 unit rests at the buffer stops of platform 2 at Birmingham Moor Street. Note the recess under the adjacent platform which used to accommodate the loco traverser. Tony Walmsley.

In 1988, class 116 power twin C395 formed of 51140 and 51153 arrives at Cardiff Central from the west with a train for Caerphilly. These two vehicles led a fairly nomadic life between various Western Region depots. Tony Walmsley.

One teatime in 1990 a class 116 power twin unit C394, 51152 visible, calls at platform 6 at Cardiff Central, probably on a Coryton train. The two vehicles (the other being 51139) spent most of their lives in the Cardiff area, though were originally allocated to Bristol. Tony Walmsley.

One of the last remaining Network South East class 115 units sits at platform 3 at Marylebone forming an evening peak working in the summer of 1993. At this date all the daytime trains were worked by new class 165 units, with a few peak hour trains remaining formed by class 115s. This platform was newly built on the site of the cab road. In the summer of 1993, the Chiltern Line modernisation was nearly complete and most class 115 dmus were withdrawn - these vehicles are seen disused outside Marylebone depot. The tracks in the foreground were newly built through the site of the cab road and ramp. Tony Walmsley.
