364. 63'6" VEHICLES.

The Chairman stated that the General Manager has been requested by the B.T.C. to examine further the possibility of introducing 63'6" vehicles where practicable, and asked that for all new schemes for which units have not been ordered, consideration be given to the use of 63'6" vehicles.

365. MANCHESTER (PART 2) S.E. LANCS.

Noted - that Sub-Committee have not yet decided on depots for maintenance.

366. DERBY, NOTTINGHAM, LEICESTER (PART 1).

Financial statement of costs considered, and noted that an additional cost of £3,884 pre annum would be incurred with stock consisting of all power cars compared with a saving of £38,802 per annum with stock consisting of sets of two power cars and one trailer.  Mr.Gould outlined the requirements in regard to conveyance of parcels traffic in the area and in through vans and it was agreed that Messrs.Gould, Larkin and Stanley would re-consider the whole question of the stock to ascertain whether it would be possible to avoid the employment of all power cars, having regard to the increased cost of using such an arrangement of cars.

It was stated that this enquiry would not necessitate the alteration of pit accommodation at Etches Park and Mr.Butland could proceed with that scheme.
