Noted that scheme approved by Area Board and awaiting Commission
authority.
(ii) Manchester Central - Liverpool Central Express Services
(Manchester Part 8)
Noted that scheme approved by Area Board and awaiting Commission
authority. Delivery date for the six 4-car sets is January/February 1960
and, if this was maintained, service would commence on April 4th, 1960.

736. SCHEMES IN OPERATION
(i) Traffic Receipts
Statements for September and October 1959 attached as Appendix "A".
Attention was called to the reduced number of passengers travelling by
some diesel multiple unit services, and it was agreed that Mr.Horner would prepare a
paper for consideration at the next meeting.
(ii) Watford - St.Albans Service
The future disposition of the 3-car P.U.P units previously employed on
this branch was raised and it was agreed that departments which may be interested
be approached as to the possible use of the units. It was noted that the
motor car vehicles of the units were capable of being operated as single units.
