A driver trailer bodyshell during deflection testing at their Saltley Works. The bodyshell is sitting on two stands where it would sit normally sit on bogies at the 'centre casting', with two side stands at each end for balance. The remainder of the stands in-between hold instruments to measure bodyshell distortion from the weights inside.

The centre saloon of a DMBS before the floor is fitted. The two AEC 150hp engines can be seen, along with a myriad of conduit and pipes (air, vacuum and coolant). On these vehicles the radiator header tanks were in the guards van meaning more coolant piping (those seen with the flexible joints) than later Met-Camm vehicles.
