Some of the Birmingham to Norwich services were still DMU operated in 1975, and this is the case with the 11.15 Birmingham to Norwich service seen at Melton Mowbray on 18th July 1975. The 'book' formation for set 85 on this date was 50167 + 59523 + 50171. The KDH Archive.
End of the line at Sheringham on the evening of 10th September 1978 with a BRCW dmu (set 85) on a Norwich service. Cars (more modern ones!) can still park at this spot nowadays, but above rails forming the through connection to the North Norfolk Railway. Murray Liston.

Cambridge allocated class 101 DMU set CA85 stands at Harwich Town station waiting to depart with 2K66 the 16.20 to Ipswich on October 22, 1983. By this date Harwich Town was on the end of a single track passenger branch as beyond Harwich Parkeston Quay station the twin track alignment was operated as two separate single lines. Passenger services used the former up line, while freight used the down line to access the Zeebrugge train ferry berth off to the left of the goods shed seen here in the left background.
