A Class 101 Metro-Cammell unit, led by 51215, leaves Lowestoft for Norwich on October 23, 1985. Mike Dean.
A Class 101 DMU stands in York station before working a service to Selby on 16 May 1987. E51215 is closest, it had been allocated to Neville Hill since January but still carried set number 04 from its previous allocation to Cambridge. Brian Creasey.

Class 101 DMBS E51215 and DMCL E53162 approach Leeds Station with a morning commuter service on the 1st August 1988. Although I believe E51215 was allocated to Leeds Neville Hill TMD at this time a set code 04, outside the normal Neville Hill range, is applied in larger than usual numbers. Bob Woolnough.
A Class 101 (DMBS E51215 carrying an old set number and presumably DMCL E53162) with a Class 108 at Armathwaite on 24 August 1988. Note the neat platelayers hut on the right of the track which appeared to be still in use at the time. Peter Tandy.
An interesting formation comprising two Class 101 DMBSs with a Class 108 centre car seen at Retford Low Level sometime in 1989. Closest is thought to be 51215 allocated to Neville Hill, the 04 set number is from its time at Cambridge which it left in January 1987. Andrew Walker.
The regular shuttle service between Clapham Junction and Kensington Olympia saw quite a variety of power over the years. From classes 33 and 73 with 4TC stock to first generation DMUs and DEMUs there was usually something of interest to enthusiasts. On 30 March 1990 class 101 L200 (51215 + 54081) was working and I took this picture at Kensington as the driver chatted with some colleagues before the run back to Clapham Junction. Peter Tandy.

I went to the S & C on 24 August 1988 to photograph steam locomotive 34092 City of Wells,and had the chance to have some shots of service trains. This one shows a pair of DMUs - Class 101 (probably 51215 + 53162) on the left and a Class 108 - crossing Long Marton Viaduct. Peter Tandy.
