51257 is part of set 64 at Spalding on 19/4/77. The Class 105 set is attached to a 3-car set of a different class, which is mostly off the platform. There is also a 3-car high density set in the sidings. Ian Francis.
A Cravens 2-car (DMBS E51257 trailing and DTCL E56116), has arrived at Leicester on the 15.40 from Peterborough and will form the 17.30 return. 25 August 1977. Kevin Lane.
In mid-October 1958 two Cravens sets (51257 + 56415 and 51261 + 56419) began working Kings Cross Great Northern line suburban services. This was an initial step towards a planned 20 sets being in operation during the first half of the following year (ultimately there would be 26 sets). The two sets are seen at Palmers Green station circa November 1958. British Railways.
A pair of Cravens Local Passenger (later Class 105) 2-car dmu's Nos. E56131 (141), E51257 (105/2) in Rail Blue livery with all-yellow front end and Nos.E51256 (105/2), E56424 (141) in green livery with small yellow warning panel arriving at Kings Cross from Hatfield on a service for which the class was not designed - intensive suburban passenger, 07/67.
