On Tuesday 15 June 1976 at 13:30 Laira (LA) based Swindon Cross Country dmu set P554 (W51584 visible) leaves St Ives with the 13:27 to St Erth. Mr Deltic.
On Tuesday 15 June 1976 at 13:00 Laira (LA) based Swindon Cross Country P554 (W51575 and W51584 with a suburban centre car) is seen at St Ives after arriving with the 12:45 from St Erth. Mr Deltic.
Class 120 car W51584 is seen at Gunnislake on 30 September 1978, coupled with W51575. 51584 was new in 1961 at Tyseley, Birmingham and withdrawn in March 1987 by which time it had moved to Ayr in Scotland. Jeremy Chapter.

On 12th April 1985, just a month before withdrawal on the outskirts of Skipton is a Swindon Cross-Country class 120 dmu set, comprising of cars M51575 + M59581 + M51584, which has either worked in over the Settle & Carlisle line or the Little North Western from Lancaster. These units were not common along here, this is the only time I think I saw one, it's certainly the only photogragh I have of one along here! Andrew J Crowther.
One of the stylish and well-appointed Swindon Class 120 'Cross-Country' DMU's was stabled between duties in Croft Street Sidings at Preston on February 22nd 1986. The Newton Heath allocated three-car set was formed of cars M51575, M59581 & M51584 and had been transferred from the Western Region in 1982. Martyn Hilbert.
