A nine-car DMU formation working the 4.40pm Wolverhampton Low Level to Didcot seen at Aynho Troughs on 29 August 1962. At the front and rear are Derby-built suburban sets (later Class 116s), with a GRC&W Cross-Country set in the middle. Leading is DMBS W50070 displaying 'Birmingham (Old Hill)' on the destination blind. It has set number 326 in the cab window, meaning the centre car is presumably 59026, the set would later become TY526/TS526. Michael Mensing.
Tyseley based Derby suburban set 326 just south of Bromsgrove in early 1964. W50070 leads. Michael Mensing.
The 6.10pm Birmingham Moor Street - Henley-in-Arden arrived at Lakes Halt on May 26, 1964. M50070 leads. Michael Mensing.
A Class 116 set arrives into Birmingham Moor Street in the early 1970s with M50070 at the front. Stuart Mackay Collection.
Class 116 DMU set TY526 departing from Birmingham New Street with a Lichfield City service on 1 June 1974. The DMBS is presumably M50070. Alistair Ness.
A three-car Met-Camm DMU approaches Class 116 50070 ready to couple together at Lichfield City in August 1976. Michael Mensing.
Two refurbished Class 116 DMUs arrive into Lye station in the summer of 1977. Several doors are wide open towards the centre of the formation despite there being at least two coach lengths to go before the train stops. At the front is set TS526, presumably 50070 + 59026 + 50095. Michael Mensing.
Tyseley based Derby suburban triple DMU set TY526 at Langley Green circa early 1970s with DMBS M50070 at the front. Graham Clark.
Refurbished Class 116 set TS526 (50070 closest, presumably with 59026 + 50095) at Hatton on January 27, 1979. Michael Mensing.
Tyseley-based Class 116 set TS526 (53070 leads, presumably with 53095 on the rear) arrives into Gloucester on September 29, 1984. Worcester Shrub Hill is on the destination blind. Michael Mensing.
It wasn't too difficult to take this sort of picture at Longbridge in 1986. There was a 15 minute local service on the Cross City line with some trains terminating here with others continuing to Redditch. I can't quite make out the unit number on the hybrid set about to leave on the up line on 14 June but think it may be T526 with class 116 power cars sandwiching a class 127 trailer. If I am correct then the car numbers are 53070 + 59626 + 53095 which were listed as being at Tyseley during 1987 although as a four-car set with another class 127 vehicle. It wasn't uncommon for Tyseley to muck about with their sets as faults developed and all sorts of odd combinations were seen. Peter Tandy.
A 47 on a NE/SW working awaiting departure, with a class 116 suburban DMU set no. TS526 formed 53070 - 59612 - 53095 stabled in the rain at Birmingham New Street, 07/Mar/1987. Robert Chilton.
M53070 (well, what's left of it!) Vic Berry's, Leicester 5-6-88. Kevin Dowd.
The stripped out front half of Class 116 DMBS M53070 awaits it's fate in a very tidy Vic Berry's Scrapyard, Leicester on Sunday 5th June 1988. Formerly allocated to Tyseley MPD, Birmingham she had been withdrawn during March 1988 and looked like she wouldn't see the end of the week. Bob Woolnough.
A Derby suburban triple set approaches Bromsgrove with the 1.40pm Gloucester Eastgate - Birmingham New Street service on April 17, 1965. The trailer composite is M59026, and so the DMBS is probably M50070. Michael Mensing.
Tyseley based Class 116 set TS526 (presumably 50095 + 59026 + 50070) at Sutton Coldfield in the Autumn of 1976. Lichfield City is on the destination blind. Michael Mensing.
A Class 116 (of which the DMBS is M50070) and a Class 101 seen at Lichfield City in August 1976. Michael Mensing.
Refurbished Tyseley Class 116 set TS526 (presumably 50095 + 59026 + 50070) is seen arriving into Four Oaks with the 6.29pm Longbridge - Lichfield service on the 30th May 1978. Michael Mensing.
Class 116s at Manchester Victoria on 24 May 1980, working one of the shuttles to the Rainhill 150 celebrations. Closest is set TS526 and M50095 presumably with M59026 + M50070. Nigel Menzies.
