W50112 leads a Derby suburban triple DMU set past Birmingham Moor Street station on 27 February 1960. Michael Mensing.
W50112 leads a Derby suburban triple DMU arriving at Birmingham Snow Hill with a Wolverhampton - Birmingham - Stratford-upon-Avan - Honeybourne via Solihull service in mid-April 1960. Michael Mensing.
The 6.10pm Birmingham Moor Street - Henley-in-Arden service arrives at Spring Road station on 13 April 1962 formed of a Derby suburban triple DMU, DMS W50112 being closest. Michael Mensing.
Derby suburban set and Gloucester Cross-Country DMUs form the 4.40pm Wolverhampton Low Level - Didcot service on August 17, 1963. Seen passing through Harbury cutting, the Derby set appears to be 306, led by 50112, which has a leak on the roof. Michael Mensing.
M50112 leads the 5.52pm Birmingham (Snow Hill) - Lapworth seen between Solihull & Widney Manor on the 23rd September 1964. Michael Mensing.

Evening at Moor Street. One of Tyseley's Derby suburban 3 car dmu sets is poised to work the 20.40 hrs service along the North Warwickshire line to Shirley. 53061 is at the far end (image 31469), closest are presumably 53112 + 59613. These 1957 built units took over from steam and gave 30 years service until they were replaced by Class 150 units in 1987. Birmingham Moor St looks fairly clean and tidy in this shot taken 15th December 1986, the platforms and their infrastucture are much the same today but the clear view of the Rotunda is masked by the Selfridge building. Geoff Dowling.
A Class 116 DMU at Birmingham Moor Street in 1987, awaiting departure with the 16:35 Birmingham Moor Street - Shirley suburban service. Closest seems to be 53112. Graeme Phillips Collection.
Birmingham Moor Street station. W50058 leads 59006 and 50112. James Hardwick.
B.R. Derby MBS 53061 has just arrived at Birmingham Moor Street, it will form the 19.40 Birmingham to Shirley train. The other two vehicles are presumably 59613 + 53112. Moor St has grown since this was taken on 15th December 1986, the area behind the spear fence was the old carriage sidings, it is now the new buildings that form the island between platforms 2 and 3. Geoff Dowling.
On 29 January 1987 T524 (presumably 53068 + 59622 (a 127) + 53112) was in Birmingham Moor Street station having arrived from Stratford-upon-Avon and was being prepared to return to the same town. I don't know what the two vehicles to the left of the DMU were doing in the siding but assume that they had been left there after some sort of engineering work over the previous weekend. Freight traffic to the yard here had ceased from 1972; before I started railway photography or even owned a camera other than a plastic Kodak Brownie 127. Peter Tandy.
Until 1987, the GWR's Moor Street station was the terminus for trains both from the Leamington Spa and Stratford-upon-Avon lines. When Snow Hill was reopened a two platform through station was constructed adjacent to the terminus, which then became redundant and was closed. On 7 February 1987 the 12.10 to Stratford departs from Moor Street in the capable hands of driver Geoff Davies, the set being TS524, presumably 53068 + 59622 (a 127) + 53112. Moor Street lay derelict for many years, but now has been restored and is now used again by trains to relieve pressure on Snow Hill and to provide shoppers with a more direct route to their destinations. The car park is now part of the new Moor Street station with its own terminus platforms used by many of Chiltern Railways' Marylebone services including those using class 68 power in push-pull mode. Peter Tandy.
Emerging from the gloom of Birmingham New Street station on 23/Apr/1987 is Class 115 DMBS no. 51884 at the head of non-gangwayed three-car set TS524 formed with 59622 (cl.127) and 53112 (cl.116). This was a nine-car consist, the other sets recorded as being TS400 formed 51862-59602-53124 (classes 115-127-116) and TS354 formed 53890-59054-53910 (two class 116 DMSs with a class 101 trailer brake). Unusually at this late date and for a unit in Blue/Grey livery, two white marker dots are displayed in the former headcode panel of the leading 115 and as I recall, they were actually stuck on the outside purely for effect. It looked really good compared with the usual plain painted treatment. 51884 had a more varied allocation history than many 115s, being new to Chaddesden thence to Trafford Pk, Allerton, Toton, Allerton again, Marylebone, back to Allerton before a return to Marylebone and a final transfer to Tyseley in 1986. It received gangways for the first time only in September 87. Robert Chilton.
