Class 108 DMU set S939 (53631 and presumably 51926) rolls into Church Stretton station on 1st July 1989. John Carter.
An ex-works 4-car set at York, 19/07/1981, probably 50642 + 59382 + 59250 + 50631 was painted in this livery in June 1981. Andrew McConnell.
An unconventional sight in Waverley platform 17 in July 1988 is Derby Lightweight class 108 53631 which spent its first 30 years on the North Eastern region, initially as part of a 4 car set. Drafted in to Scotland in 1987 it is seen here on one end of set 386, a hybrid formed of a BRCW class 110 centre car and a later class 108 51926. When ScR had enough of them, the 108s were tidied up and ran as a pair on the Central Wales line based at Landore while the centre car was withdrawn from Haymarket. On the right is the more common sight of a Met Camm triple 101307 (51231 + 59688 + 53189). Murray Liston.
Different DMUs at Dalmeny. Three different classes of DMU in two trains crossing at Dalmeny in July 1988. On the left is Met Camm class 101364 (53242+59080+53268), while the hybrid set (386) on the right is Derby class 108s 51926 and 53631 sandwiching a BRCW class 110 centre car 59697. Murray Liston.
I'm on the phone! DMU activity at Dalmeny in July 1988. The driver of Met Camm class 101364 (53242 + 59080 + 53268) is on the phone to control, while the hybrid set (386) approaching on the right is Derby class 108s 51926 and 53631 sandwiching a BRCW class 110 centre car 59697. Identifying power cars on TBSL sets where both are DMSs can be tricky, in this case it is made easier by 53242 having a different radius to the lower left corner of the black mask around the cab windows. Murray Liston.
Class 108/110 hybrid set 386 (presumably 51926 + 59697 + 53631 at North Queensferry on 20 September 1988. Mike McDonald.
Class 108 set S939 (51926 leads, presumably with 53631) at Shrewsbury on July 1, 1989. John Carter.
Swansea allocated Class 108 DMU set S939 (51926 + 53631) departing Shrewsbury on 3 April 1991. Phil Bevan.
