Departmental vehicles 975664 975637 (formerly cars 51122 56300) are seen in bay platform 2 (now a car park) in Lincoln Central during August 1986. This was the Eastern Region's 'Stourton Saloon', re-liveried by Ilford depot in 1985 in the two-tone blue scheme then being applied to the Provincial Sector's new railbuses (Classes 142 / 143). 53355 Class 100 is seen stabled at Tyseley on 27th September 1986. This was the last Class 100 left in service, and it is coupled to it's long time partner 53812 which was the last Class 105 in service. Both were sadly scrapped. The Fisons Weedkilling train stabled in the engineers sidings at Sutton Bridge Junction on 6th October 1986. The formation of the train is Spray Coach FA99900, ex-Class 100 DTC 56315, then two ex-GWR full brakes as stores van (order unknown), FA99901 - Gangwayed Passenger Brake 150 and FA99902 - Gangwayed Passenger Brake 164, then Staff & Dormitory Coach FA99904, LMS Corridor Composite (Lot 1405), . 53355 Class 100 is seen stabled at Tyseley carriage sidings on 11/10/86. It is coupled to Class 104 centre car 59153 and Class 105 DMS 53812. Andy Cole.
M53355 + M53812 form the 16:00 Manchester Victoria - Blackburn on 10 February 1987. It was normal practice at this time for three sets would come empty from NH together and be divided in the platform to work the 15:55 Wigan Wallgate, 16:00 Blackburn and probably the 16:10 Southport which would be the Class 104 behind. Brightening-up an overcast Winter day, the Eastern Region General Managers saloon formed of a Gloucester Class 100 DMU, was stood at Doncaster on February 13th 1987. The set was formed of cars 975664 (ex E51122) & 975637 (E56300), and it was the only First Generation DMU to be painted in Provincial Services 'Sprinter' livery as applied to the Class 150/1 fleet when new. Unfortunately the set was scrapped in 1990. Martyn Hilbert.
