The 5.39pm from Edinburgh Waverley is seen at Kingsknowe on 7 September 1971. The DTC is in the early version of blue livery with just a small yellow panel. Hamish Stevenson.

The scene in the north end of Stirling station in 1972 included a three-cae GRC&W / Met-Camm set in the bay and a Met-Camm in the through roads to the left. Non-DMU interest includes the covered car transports on the left and the roofs of sleepers to the right. Comments to the image on flickr noted that these combined to form a Monday and Thursday car-sleeper service that ran overnight to Bristol and Newton Abbot. Tom Burnham.
