Seen on December 23rd 1974 is a Scarborough to Manchester Victoria service, consisting of E50554, E59234, E59211 & E50575 pausing at Stalybridge, whilst on the right, the connecting service to Stockport awaits departure in the form of M50348 & M56103 in the days when the 'Stalybridge shuttle' used to run every hour or so. Gloucester built DMU at Guide Bridge in the mid-1970s. It is working the Stalybridge - Stockport shuttle, known to some as the 'Dodger' because it had to negotiate across three of the main lines that radiate out of Manchester. Arnie Furniss.
