E50346 at March on a very damp August 17th 1979 in ex works condition with domino style headcode display. After this hasty (and somewhat blurred) photo had been taken, I went down to the platform where further scrutiny revealed a paint date of 29/7/79. It was paired here with a rather less sparkling Cravens trailer, E56114, they were working the 17.10 Cambridge to Peterborough service. Gerard Fletcher.

The 13.10 from Cambridge and is standing in the former March platform at St Ives (Huntingdonshire) sometime during 1970. It is formed of a hybrid DMU with a Class 100 DMBS (possibly E50347) and a Class 105 DTCL. Tom Burnham.
Macclesfield station in August 1969 and the dmu to Manchester via the ex-Macclesfield Bollington & Marple Railway route is formed of a Class 100/108 hybrid (set LT291), M50348 + M56484. Pete LG99.
In August 1969 I read that the Great Central & Midland Railway branch line from New Mills to Hayfield in Derbyshire was going to be closed shortly so took time off from geological mapping near Hartington on the Derbyshire/Staffordshire border & travelled up by train from Buxton. This diesel multiple unit (M50348 + M56484) took me from New Mills and here it stands in Hayfield station after arrival. Hayfield station building was intact & quite a few passengers still used the service. So why close it? Allegedly to save maintenance of the tunnel just outside New Mills station. However, after closure the tunnel remained open because it was used to stable the dmu before returning to Manchester. So again why close it? Pete LG99.

For the Rocket 150 celebrations in 1980 a three day cavalcade was held along the historic Liverpool & Manchester route between Bold Colliery and Rainhill station on May 24-26th 1980, when a procession of locomotives and rolling stock, entertained the crowds. To get the punters to and from Rainhill a motley collection of DMU sets was drafted in to form shuttle services from Manchester Victoria. Ignored by many in favour of the more exotic motive power on offer that day, a six-car lash up comprising of a Class 100 (DMBS M50350 leading), a Class 104 and a Class 108, was approaching Rainhill with another load of eager and expectant punters. Martyn Hilbert.
A Class 100 DMU at Romiley - the station can be seen just past the junction- on the line to Woodley and Guide Bridge. Date unknown, likely early 1980s. Manchester is on the destination blind and the number of the DMBS looks like it could be M50351 - the temporary repair to the headcode is interesting! Stuart Mackay Collection.
50351, a Gloucester class 100 DMBS easily identified by the partial number on the headstock, awaits it's next run to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Once a grand station Llandudno station has fallen on hard times, gradually taken apart as it's structure weakens. The centre drive that once had fine horses and carriages in it now plays host to a Rail Express parcels Commer van and a Hillman Avenger. It is 15.50, 04/07/1981. Geoff Dowling.
The demise of my beloved Deltics was something of a shock to me. I resolved to buy myself a decent camera and capture as much as I could of the railway network before it all disappeared. This was one of my early attempts….. …..I managed to straighten it up in Photoshop but can’t do much about the composition! Having grown up with the Scottish Gloucesters, I was more than a little pleased to see this arriving at Manchester Piccadilly on the 15:13 ex New Mills, 26th May 1982. M50351 was the leading car - note the partial number on the buffer beam. Brian McDevitt.
M50351 + M56106 in Rose Hill station on 16 November 1982. Note the large white dot inside the cab - a domino headcode blind(s) to cover the windows on the bulkhead/sliding door to the passenger saloon in lieu of normal blinds. Stuart Mackay Collection.
Two GRC&W twins at Garston, Liverpool, in March 1958, possibly on a service from Warrington. M50352 and M50355 are recorded as being the power cars, they were allocated to Brunswick depot from January to June 1958 and are presumably running with their regular trailer cars M56107 and M56110. Note all the coaches on the left. Stuart Mackay Collection.
A Gloucester twin led by M50352 is seen at Lichfield heading to Burton in Autumn 1964. Michael Mensing.
A Gloucester twin is seen at Manchester Piccadilly, with 50352 closest. Date unknown. Ian Francis.
A Class 100 DMU with DMBS M50352 closest arriving into Guide Bridge station, date unknown. Paul Redmond.
A GRC&W twin DMU set is seen at Aberdovey on 23 September 1967. The DMBS is in the early blue livery with small yellow panel, the DTCL is still in green. This was one of eleven of these sets that were allocated to Chester from 1966 to 1969. Stuart Mackay Collection.
