This Met-Cam had just arrived at Durham Station from Sunderland on a quiet summer Saturday afternoon in 1962. It was then of the standard combination of Motor Brake Second and Composite Trailer. Roy Lambeth.
A three-car Met-Camm DMU is seen at Brindley Heath on the Walsall-Rugeley line in mid-1962. The closest vehicle has a much lighter grey roof than the other two. Michael Mensing.

Two two-car Met-Camm DMUs in Lowestoft station. No date, but at least two of the vehicles are in rail blue so circa late 1960s. Graham Clark.
The new Coventry station is well on the way to being re-built in this photograph from 1963, the new station is a gleaming temple of concrete to greet the new age of electrification. The platform buildings seem complete but much is still needingto be done for the main buildings,Station Square has not been started. The new station platform lights have red tops, a feature that was short-lived. In the foreground a Metro-Cammell DMU is leaving for Nuneaton, the one in the background could be for Leamington or Rugby, both are in original livery with speed whiskers. The slide was a bin rescue job from the University of Birmingham. Geoff Dowling Collection.
Two four-car Met-Camms arrive into Monkwearmouth heading for Newcastle. Date unknown, but the vehicles have standard DMU lining which means it's probably mid-1960s. Stuart Mackay Collection.
A four-car DMU Met-Camm near Darlington with Leeds on the destination blind, circa 1963/4. The third vehicle is a buffet car, all the buffets were allocated to South Gosforth during the yellow panel era. The rear car is a DMBS, the closest car - which has some bodyside damage just past the roundel and a shedplate on the solebar - seems to be E51508 or E51509. Stuart Mackay Collection.
A three-car Met-Camm DMU passes through Princes Street Gardens on the last part of its journey to Edinburgh Waverley, date unknown. The leading car appears to be Sc51521. Stuart Mackay Collection.
A Scottish Region Met-Camm twin DMU at Dundee Central Junction (looking west), date unknown. It has Dundee Tay Bridge on the destination blind, the set number in the centre cab seems to 42 - the original 1966 numbering would make it a Hamilton allocated unit. Paul Redmond.
An unusual image showing a Class 101 DTCL separated from its set and being hauled on the rear of a rake of empty stock towards Newcastle. It is one of the "batch 2E" trailer cars which narrows it down to the 56050-061 batch, approximately half of these were allocated to South Gosforth depot during the "green with half yellow panel" era, which leads to speculation that the train's destination may be that depot? Other stock in the formation includes two Southern PMV vehicles and two BR Mark 1 coaches. The location appears to be Henwick Hall on the former East Coast Main Line south of Selby, the date is unknown. Chris Moxon Collection.
One of the most unusual DMU images I've ever seen - SC51230 on the back of a loco-hauled passenger service departing from Edinburgh Waverley. I'm guessing this could be an Aberdeen service, the vehicle being moved to Inverurie Works. Undated, it was a Leith Central vehicle from April 1966, note the lining on the side is missing in some parts. Stuart Mackay Collection.
Met-Camm DMBS Sc51227 paired with a GRC&W DTCL in East Kilbride station in the summer of 1963. John Horne Collection.
A four-car Met-Camm set heading for Leeds in 1963. Steve Davies Collection.
Two Met-Camm twins head away from Snettisham on the Hunstanton branch, circa mid-1960s. Stuart Mackay Collection.
Two three-car Met-Camm DMUs, perhaps with a CCT on the rear. No real details came with the negative, there was a hint it could be drawing into Backworth station but looking at images from that era I would have expected a third rail for that location. With the yellow panel and no blue vehicles, the date will be circa mid-1960s. Stuart Mackay Collection.
A Met-Camm (SC56392 closest) and a GRC&W set sitting in Elderslie station in the early 1960s. Hamish Stevenson.
