It is coming off the line from Alloa, and Perth is on the destination blind, and the timetable shows there was a 3.20pm Alloa - Perth diesel service. Spon Lane Station on May 17th 1963. A Metro-Cammell 2 car dmu calls at the ramshackle station with a Birmingham New Street to Wolverhampton HL service. A Metro-Cammell DMU departs from the small station of Hammerwich on a grey 2nd December 1963, it is forming a Burton-upon-Trent to Wolverhampton train. Hammerwich lies mid-way between Lichfield and Brownhills, the station opened in 1845 and closed when passenger services ceased in 1965. It had a substantial house and booking/parcels office, platform accomodation being provided by two differing styles of wooden shelter.
