Not so long after seeing my first Western Region allocated "Metro-Cammell" DMU at Newton Abbot, they started turning up at Hereford - as Cardiff received a few sets. It was unusual to see these sets in blue and white livery at this time, though later this became common. John Crooks.

Okay so it may not be a Monday, Peter left not one detail with this picture but it has that miserable cold November morning look as people grudgingly return to work. I guess, going by the vast jacket shoulders and flapping flares the picture dates from the mid 1970's It is a simple shot of a Norwich Class 101 waiting at Kings Norton station with a Birmingham train. The island platform is obviously still in use but all the fine buildings have been swept away to be replaced by a cheap and nasty bus shelter. Image taken by Peter Shoesmith. Geoff Dowling and John Whitehouse Collection.
