This charming scene from a pre-modern Alnmouth station shows a Class 101 DMU led by 50168 arriving with 1808 Newcastle-Alnmouth, at 1906 on 02/06/1977. Set C200 comprised an almost studiously mismatched combination of Class 101 DMBS 51176 in Blue / Grey, a Class 107 centre car in Strathclyde Orange (presumably 59793) and a Class 105 in plain BR Blue. Taken at Glasgow Central in late 1986, when the Class 107 power cars were out of use with axle problems and the ScR collected a variety of vehicles from around the country as substitutes. Cannabilised M54341 + Sc51468 are seen at Perth on the 14th October 1994. The DTC still carries its C201 set number, it had moved from Cardiff to Haymarket in March 1986 and withdrawn from there six months later. Hamish Stevenson.
