A busy scene at Glasgow Central at 11.15 on 14/7/89. On the right unit 107 738 prepares to depart as the 11.15 to Barrhead. In the centre, 101 321 will depart at 11.28 to Haymarket. (In Summer 1989 the south tunnel at Haymarket was closed for electrification works, preventing access to Waverley from the Slateford direction, so the Glasgow Central services were terminating at, and starting from, Haymarket.) In the background, out of sight to the left, 120 534 has just arrived on the 10.40 from East Kilbride and its passengers are streaming past an unidentified cl.101. Leonard Rogers.

Recently transferred from Scotland, set 101322 consisting of SC53159 + SC59069 + SC51250 at Newcastle on 1/10/87, receiving attention from fitters. Unusually, the leading vehicle retains the top marker light above the destination blind - these were usually removed upon refurbishment in late 1970s / early 1980s. Graeme Phillips Collection.

Class 101 & 126 Largs 9 Oct 1982. The Met-Camm is set 101323, presumably 50148 closest. The Class 126, Sc51036 in view, was on the 'Ayrshire Wanderer' railtour. This tour was organised by the Swindon Preservation Society and used the same name as the previous year's BLS tour doing exactly what it said on the headboard. The class also remained in service for a bit longer than planned after the tour which had meant to see them being withdrawn from service the following day. Here we see the train at Largs.
