A Class 108 DMU with vehicles M53927 + M54214 seems to be at the end of a long formation seen in Derby station on Wednesday 25 June 1986. They were allocated to Chester at the time. David Russon.

A Swansea based Derby Class 108 power twin DMU, set S948 (presumably 53928 + 51565), heads for Crewe with a passenger service on the line from Salop Goods Junction, Crewe, on either the 8th or 9th December 1988. Seen from the cab of 37797, stood at Crewe Bank SB's outer home signal at the head of 6V07, the empty Cawoods service from Ellesmere Port to South Wales. The small LH signal are would eventually be cleared for me to enter the Up Goods Loop at Crewe bank. Paul James.

With the restored Class 503 EMU in the adjacent platform, a 2-Car Class 108 DMU with M53929 leading, awaits departure from Southport with a service to Manchester Victoria on September 28th 1985. That chap seems to be looking at something of interest inside the door vestibule of that 108. This was the period when the first generation DMU fleet was on the way out, and time-honoured scenes such as this became a thing of the past as shiny new Class 142s and 150s came on stream. This must have been the furthest north a Buxton allocated DMU set worked at the time being synonymous generally with services South of Manchester. 3-car set BX 372 (53930+59148+52056) formed with two class 108 motor coaches and a class 104 intermediate trailer is seen shortly after arrival at Heysham Harbour on 2 June 1988.
