Two two-car Met-Camm DMUs arrive into Egton station with a Whitby service in April 1969. Both DMBSs are still in green livery, but with different lining styles. The closest car, a DMCL (or DMSL) has an umber brown buffer beam. Stuart Mackay Collection.

Neatly posed under the bridge at Hednesford station are a matching pair of Park Royal twin car DMUs, later known as class 103s. The blind of the right hand one is for Brownhills and the (rear) blind of the other is Rugeley Trent Valley. The position of the guards compartment can be located by the mailbag which has been thrown out onto the platform. Hednesford station closed in 1965 but in 1989 it was re-opened. Once very much a freight and diversionary line it now sees a regular train service and is at present being electrified, this will fill the Walsall to Rugeley T.V. electrification gap. Leaving Gateshead Station is a rather weather beaten Metro-Cammell 2 car DMU. The train was from Newcastle Central to Sunderland on 15/06/1981. Geoff Dowling.
Rolling towards Haltwhistle on 08/06/1981 is a class 101 DMU, likely changing platforms atter terminating with the 15.08 Newcastle to Haltwhistle service. The picture was taken from the A69 road bridge, to the right is the River Tyne and the viaduct that supported the branch line to Alston. Geoff Dowling.
A view of Honeybourne Station which was taken by Peter Shoesmith on 09/08/1964. The train is a Tyseley based Derby (Class 116) unit. Trains from the Birmingham using the North Warwickshire line could terminate at Henley-in-Arden, Stratford-upon-Avon or here, Honeybourne is also situated on the Oxford to Worcester line. Visible through the platform canopy a steam locomotive is visible having a water stop. Today Honeybourne is a stop for Paddington to Worcester and beyond trains but one day it may be possible to travel along the picturesque Avon valley line to Stratford-upon-Avon once again. At Willaston Crossing on 29/01/1977, the thick frost clings to the wooden sleepers where the watery winter sun has failed to reach. The big wheel in the signal box has been used to close the crossing gates and a Metro Cammell unit trundles past with a Shrewsbury to Crewe service. The next train will be a Western hauled railtour, will the sun last? Geoff Dowling.
