A Swindon 79xxx series Inter-City DMU on a South Wales test run. This appeared in the August 1957 Western Region staff magazine, submitted by Carmarthen passenger shunter Peter M Ives, and so was presumably taken in the Carmarthen area. Peter M Ives.

The long tubular section is heater ducting which ran along the length of the passenger saloon at floor level where the wall meets the floor. It is still fitted on the right hand side. Stuart Mackay.
