Mr.Gould said that the introduction of this scheme would have no reprecussions on L.M. workings at Carlisle and, owing to the timings of the proposed service at Carlisle, it would not be possible to make any use of the units on the L.M.Region.
Mr.Adkinson reported that great difficulty is being experienced in training staff at Derby owing to shortage of diesel cars and asked for the allocation of a unit for this purpose.
Agreed that this request be referred to the Chief Operating Superintendent.
Mr.Salmon reported that the above Fair is to be held again at Blackpool in February 1957, and Mr.Read will initiate consideration of the possibility of introducing similar arrangements to those for the 1956 Fair for a diesel service between Preston and Blackpool.
