with a view to a decision being arrived at as to the appropriate figure to be used for maintenance costs.
It was agreed that whatever the result of this meeting the St.Pancras scheme should be considered as self-contained and suitable for operation by R.R.238 H.P. engines.
Mr. Gould said that there was no operating reason why the units for the Liverpool - St.Helens - Wigan scheme should necessarily couple with units on other schemes but there would be an operating advantage if they could couple to the units for the Liverpool Central - Gateacre - Warrington scheme.
Mr. Stanley stated it had been agreed that when units into the works for heavy repair, re-wiring could be carried out to enable all B.U.T. units to inter-couple.
Noted it had been agreed that the half yearly statements should continue as at present until the end of 1957 subject to the layout and content conforming to the new B.R. Accounting Classification. The scope of statements to be submitted after 1957 to be considered later in the light of the recommendation of the ad hoc committee on Diesel Costs and Statistics (Langridge Committee).
