545 SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE ARRANGEMENTS
(a) Minutes of meetings of sub-committee held on the 17th September and
14th October, 1957 noted.
(b) Day to day maintenance - As a result of the decision to carry out
examination at intervals of five days, future schemes are being re-diagrammed
and consideration is being given to the economics of individual schemes.

Director of Traffic Services to show, when this scheme is fully operative, the number of units which will be surplus to requirements due to changes in the scheme since the units were originally ordered.
2. Derby, Nottingham, Leicester Part 1
Scheme
Scheme approved by B.T.C. and will be put into operation on 14th April, 1958. Units now being delivered and temporarily operating in Manchester area.

1. North Wales Part 3 {Wrexham, Chester
& New Brighton)
Preliminary report already considered and scheme still being re-examined.
2. Liverpool Central - Gateacre -
Warrington Central
Noted that scheme now approved by B.T.C. Director of Traffic Services to advise the omnibus companies concerned.
Awaiting supplementary submission from departments for two
further sets required for this scheme.
3. Liverpool Lime Street - St.Helens -
Wigan
Scheme now re-costed on the alternative of 2 x 150 H.P. B.U.T. engines and 1 x 238 H.P. Rolls Royce engines per power car. Awaiting decision on the use of Rolls Royce engines (see Minute 542.3).
4. Birmingham Part 2
Units now in course of delivery and being temporarily utilised in Manchester Part 1 scheme. Departments concerned to submit scheme as a matter of urgency.
