(b) Production of vehicles -
Having regard to the decision to interpose the building of 24 vehicles
for the Manchester (C) - Liverpool(C) scheme between those for the
St.Pancras and the Marylebone schemes (see Minute 651(b)), the
production of the vehicles for the Marylebone scheme would not now
commence in January, 1960. Mr.Stanley stated that by stepping
up production of vehicles from 4 to 6 per week it may be possible to
commence building the Marylebone vehicles later in 1960.
Agreed Mr.Varley produce provisional programme in respect
of delivery of vehicle, date of submission of report, etc.
(c) Lengthening of platforms -
Noted that no lengthening is anticipated in respect of L.M. stations
but it may be necessary for some Western Region stations and particulars
would be included in submission. Mr.Varley to cover planning of
works in programme referred to in previous minute.
(d) Seating arrangements -
Noted that seating arrangements as shown on Drawing DE.11289 had been
agreed by Director of Traffic Services and Chief Mechanical &
Electrical Engineer advised.
2. Priority Schemes
(a) Manchester Part 3 (N.E.Lancs.)
- Now being revised following decision not to proceed with adaption of
Accrington Motive Power Shed.
(b) Manchester Part 6 (C.L.C.
Services) - Now being covered in connection with use of 224
vehicles in 1959 (see Minute 651(a)).
(c) North Wales Part 3 - Final report
expected to be completed shortly.
(d) Derby - Nottingham - Leicester Part
